Foldable trimming scissors
The Hemp Buddy folding scissor is a compact pair of scissors designed for cutting close to the plant, for example when tidying up buds after harvest or removing excess leaf material. The scissors fold up, so they take up almost no space when closed: they fit in a pocket, grow box, or on a keychain, so you always have them within reach when you need a quick trim. The fine tip of the blades gets into tight spots, even between densely packed buds where a standard pair of scissors would be too bulky. Beyond plant use, the scissors also come in handy for other fine cutting jobs, such as trimming loose threads or opening small packages.
Use and maintenance
Fully unfold the scissors before cutting, so the hinge locks properly and the blades stay firmly aligned during use. Use the scissors for light, precise trimming; for larger amounts of plant material, a standard pair of pruning shears with longer blades is usually faster. Plant sap and resin can build up on the blades and make them sticky over time. Clean the scissors after use with a cloth and a bit of alcohol or vegetable oil to loosen residue, then fold them shut again before storing to protect the tip. Check now and then whether the blades still meet cleanly; if you notice slight play in the hinge, a drop of sewing-machine oil can restore smooth movement.
