Shisha Black Frosted – 45cm
This hookah consists of a glass base roughly 45cm tall, finished with a matte black (frosted) coating that gives the glass a soft, opaque look. A hookah works with a fixed set of parts: the bowl on top, a metal stem that runs from the bowl down to just below the water surface in the base, the glass base itself filled with water, and a hose with a mouthpiece through which you draw the smoke. This model has a single hose connection.
How it works
Fill the base about halfway with cold water, so the stem sits a few centimetres below the water surface, and attach the stem to the base with an airtight seal. Loosely pack shisha tobacco in the bowl, cover it with foil pierced with small holes, and place a lit coal on top. As soon as you draw on the hose, negative pressure pulls the smoke down through the stem and through the water in the base. The water filters and cools the smoke before you inhale it through the hose, giving a smoother pull than smoking without water. Avoid using too much or too little water: an overfilled base makes for a heavy draw and noisy bubbling, while too little water gives a harsher, less filtered smoke.
Care
Empty the base after use and rinse it with lukewarm water; don't leave water standing in it. Clean the stem regularly with a bottle brush to prevent buildup, and let all parts dry fully before storing or reusing the hookah.
