Curcuma domestica

Turmeric (Curcuma domestica) is the plant from whose root the spice turmeric is extracted. It belongs to the ginger family, whose roots are used in cooking. Many people consider turmeric powder to be perhaps the tastiest spice on earth.

What is turmeric powder?

Turmeric powder is obtained by grinding the dried root of Curcuma Longa / Curcuma Domestica. The result is a true superfood and also the main ingredient in curry powder, which has been used for centuries by Indian Ayurvedic healers. The main component in this powder is curcumin.
