Banjara Aztec Cinnamon: hand-rolled cinnamon incense
Cinnamon is the dried inner bark of Cinnamomum trees. In ancient Egypt and later in Europe it was an expensive trade good, shipped in from Asia. Everyone knows the scent from the kitchen, and that exact warm, sweet spiciness is what you get in these Banjara sticks.
When to burn cinnamon?
Cinnamon is a pronounced scent. It works well on a cold evening, during the holidays or when your home can smell cosy after cooking. In a small room, half a stick is often enough. Looking for something calmer? Pick the sweet Aztec Benzoin or combine the two.
How to use the sticks
Light the tip and let it burn for a few seconds. Blow it out and the stick will keep smouldering. If you want to stop before it's finished, carefully press the glowing end into sand or the ash in your holder.
In short
Fire safety
A smouldering stick can stay hot for a long time. So always use a holder or dish that can't catch fire, and stay nearby while it burns. Keep children and animals away from it. Cinnamon smoke is fairly intense, so air the room well afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Does it smell like kitchen cinnamon sticks?
Yes, but warmer and rounder, because the scent is released through smoke.
Is there also an Aztec scent with resin?
Yes, for example Frankincense or Mayan Myrrh.
