Vegetarian empty capsules, size "0" - 100 pieces
These empty capsules are made from HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), a plant-based material used as a vegetarian and vegan alternative to gelatin capsules. The pack contains 100 size "0" capsules, letting you package your own herbs, powders or supplements in the dose you want. Each capsule holds roughly 500mg of herb or powder, depending on how fine and dense the material is.
Use
Fill both halves of the capsule with the herb or powder of your choice and press them together until they click shut. Doing this by hand takes a bit of practice; a size "0" Capsule Machine fills several capsules at once, which is faster and less messy. When dosing a new herb or extract, start with a small amount until you know how it suits you.
Storage
Store unused capsules dry at room temperature; HPMC is less moisture-sensitive than gelatin, but an airtight container keeps the capsules in the best condition for longest. Store filled capsules the same way you'd store the herb or powder inside them.
FAQ
Is size "0" the right size for me?
Size "0" is a commonly used mid-size capsule holding roughly 500mg of herb or powder. If you need a larger dose, check our range for a bigger size such as "00"; for a smaller dose, a smaller size is often more practical.
What's the difference with gelatin capsules?
Gelatin capsules are made from animal-derived gelatin, while these capsules are made from HPMC, a plant-based material. That makes them suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet, while filling and taking the capsule works the same way.
Combine these capsules with the size "0" Capsule Machine and other dosing and growing supplies from our range.
