Vegetarian empty capsules size 1 - 100 pieces
This pack contains one hundred empty size 1 capsules made from HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) instead of the usual gelatin. HPMC is derived from plant cellulose, which makes it fully plant based, kosher, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Each capsule consists of two sliding halves, a cap and a body, which you press firmly back together once filled.
Capsule sizes are numbered from 000 (the largest) down to 5 (the smallest); size 1 sits roughly in the middle of that range, big enough for a useful dose but still easy to swallow. It has a capacity of roughly 0.5 ml. How much powder actually fits depends on the density of the material: for most herbal or supplement powders that works out to around 400 mg per capsule, while finer or denser powders can reach 500 to 600 mg.
Use
Fill the body of the capsule with a small spoon or scoop of powder, tap it gently against the side to settle the contents, then press the cap on firmly until it clicks shut. Storage
Keep unfilled capsules dry and at room temperature, since HPMC can soften in high humidity. Once filled, store the capsules the same way you would store the powder inside them: usually dry, dark, and well sealed.
