Blunts
The term blunt was originally a popular name for a well-known cigar from the Phillies cigar brand. Since the 1980s, the term has been used for cannabis cigars or blunts. The blunts in our range are made from hemp or palm leaves and are 100% tobacco-free. That means they contain no nicotine and are therefore less addictive than a blunt made from tobacco leaf.

Tobacco-free blunts and hemp wraps
A blunt is a thick, cigar-shaped joint rolled in a leaf wrap rather than thin rolling paper. This category has two kinds of blunts: Hemparillo hemp wraps from Royal Blunts, which you roll yourself, and pre-rolled King Palm blunts made from palm leaf. All of them are tobacco-free, so they contain no nicotine. That is the main difference from many American blunt wraps, which are made from tobacco leaf.
Where does the name blunt come from?
The name comes from Phillies Blunt, a cheap American cigar brand. In the 1980s, smokers in the US started splitting these cigars open, tipping out the tobacco and filling the outer leaf with weed. These days you get the wrap on its own and skip the demolition job.
Hemparillo hemp wraps by Royal Blunts
Hemparillo wraps are made from the leaves of industrial hemp. They roll like a classic blunt wrap, just without the tobacco. Each pack holds 4 wraps. There is no gum strip: you seal the seam by moistening the leaf slightly and pressing it down.
Hemp leaf burns more slowly than paper, so your blunt lasts longer and burns more calmly, provided you fill it evenly. If you prefer smoking with a tip, roll one in. You will find tips under rolling papers and filter tips.
Flavours
There are seven versions. Hemparillo Natural has no added flavour, so you mainly taste your weed. If you do want a flavour, choose fruity with Hemparillo Blueberry, Grape or Mango Haze, sweet with Sweets (cherry), or spicy with Cali-Fire, which tastes of cinnamon whisky. OG Kush is named after the well-known cannabis strain.
King Palm: pre-rolled palm leaf blunts
Not in the mood for rolling? The King Palm banana pump blunts come pre-rolled. The palm leaf comes from the Cordia tree in Southeast Asia and is shaped into a cone by hand. The filter is made from corn husk and holds a banana flavour capsule, which you only squeeze when you want the flavour to come through.
Each pack contains 2 blunts, a small packing stick to press down the filling and a humidity pouch that keeps the leaf supple. If the palm leaf still feels a little dry, moisten it lightly with a fingertip before filling. That stops it from tearing.
How to roll a blunt with a hemp wrap
Start with well-ground weed. Too coarse and the blunt burns unevenly, too fine and it draws poorly. A grinder gives you an even texture without squashing the buds between your fingers.
Lay the wrap flat, spread the filling along its full length and roll the leaf tightly around it. Moisten the edge slightly and press the seam closed. Let the blunt dry for a minute before lighting it, and turn it as you light so the leaf catches evenly all the way round. A blunt lasts longer than a joint, so there is no need to rush.
Storage
Hemp wraps and palm leaf dry out when left open, and a dry wrap cracks as you roll it. Keep them in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
Blunts are smoking products and are intended for adults aged 18 and over only. Even without tobacco you are still inhaling smoke, so use them with care.
Frequently asked questions about blunts
Do these blunts contain tobacco or nicotine?
No. Hemparillo wraps are made from hemp leaf and King Palm blunts from palm leaf. Neither contains tobacco or nicotine.
What is the difference between a blunt and a joint?
A joint is rolled in thin paper, often with a filter tip. A blunt is rolled in a thicker leaf wrap. It is bigger, burns more slowly and adds its own taste, especially with the flavoured wraps.
Do hemp wraps have a gum strip?
No, just like classic blunt wraps they have no gummed edge. You seal the seam by moistening the leaf slightly and pressing it down.
